ALL of our dogs are AKC registered and Breed Standard. Our breeding Pyrenees are from excellent lines in both conformation and temperament- from working lines - .and been screened and cleared as free from hip dysplasia at AKC recommended age of 2 years), and health cleared by a veterinarian..
Puppy Pricing is $650-$850 AKC LIMITED registration*, with a $250 DEPOSIT that goes towards the total. Puppy selection is made in order of deposit. Your deposit will specify male or female and selection order. *Full registration see below
Puppy selection is done in the order of deposits. Puppy selection is done when puppies are 4-6 weeks old, (Deposit can be applied to future litters or transferred to a friend/family if you suddenly become unable to take a puppy)

Our Pyrenees puppies have gone to ranches and farms as live stock guardians, homes as companions, and as therapy dogs.
*All puppies come with AKC papers and ability for you to register them with limited AKC recognition. Please contact us if seeking FULL AKC registration for information.& pricing. We do this on a case by case basis, and require meeting/visiting anyone seeking Full AKC registration.

DELIVERY-We always prefer people picking up their puppy in person, we love to meet you and have you meet litter mates and mom. But, when that's not possible, we can help arrange shipping or delivery.
Door to Door Delivery: We offer door to door deliver within 100 miles in the state of Kansas -and delivery for cost further in Kansas or for locations in neighboring states. For delivery to other states- availability and prices vary depending on location. Please contact me for ground delivery options. We can arrange for delivery via- our own delivery or by our trusted 3rd party ground transports, or arrange air delivery via American Airlines pet transport.
Reduced Delivery Options: We often deliver for a very reduced fee to some cities in Southern Idaho, Utah, Denver area and some Colorado areas, and Wyoming- along the I-70 or I-80. We make frequent trips to see family out west and if the timing works, we can offer delivery to certain areas for a reduced fee. We have a son in Pennsylvania now too, so depending on the time of year we may be able offer reduced delivery to areas around Pennsylvania along 1-70 en route between Kansas & PA. (We can occasionally met people half way as well- as we are frequent travelers, which cuts down your cost.) We like meeting you and offering safe, trusted delivery.
Air Delivery- We use American Airlines Air transport- & Prices range from $300 -$500 plus the price of the crate- to select airports.
TRAINING-We offer a complimentary training session for those wanting training help. Those picking up a new puppy (for owners who are interested) can arrange an "important basics" training session when picking up puppy.
For new owners who live near enough, we offer an additional complimentary follow up session. Completely optional, your choice.

*DEPOSIT - Deposit is $250. If for unforeseen circumstances, you become unable to take a puppy-or change your mind, the deposit is nonrefundable- unless- your specified puppy sex is not available. Then it is fully refundable. We do not have planned litters often enough to hold deposits from one litter to the next, unless you request it specifically- and it will be a wait.
CONTRACT- We have a breed acknowledgement that all new owners sign before making a deposit. We have a very basic contract for when you take a puppy home. For those wanting the health guarantee-we have a more specific contract. Please contact us to receive an email of our contracts (basic, farm, or companion) and for details of our health guarantee.

Sire has been x-rayed & screened by OFA and rated good. A licensed and experienced Veterinarian Dam can not be rated till 2 years old (in April) but both parents have been screened and cleared for hip dysplasia.

When can I bring my puppy home?

Puppies can go new homes between 8 to 9 weeks. They can stay here up to 10 weeks when paid in full. (Puppies in our personalized puppy program may stay up to 11 weeks with additional $350 training fee (please contact for details)

We feel puppies should go to new homes by or before week 11 for acclimation and socialization in their new environment and before the important 12-14 week neurological socialization period ends.
Can I see the mom and dad?
ABSOLUTELY! And you should. Mom & dad are fulltime farm guardians here & we want you to met them
and have a look around the farm in person. Or if distance is too far, a FaceTime, live tour can alwasy be arranged.
Are your dogs live stock guardians or home/companion Pyrenees?

YES- they are BOTH! This is why we love Great Pyrenees. They instinctively guard whatever they are raised with, whether that is human or four-legged.

We expose our puppies to our goats, chickens, ducks (when we have them), and cats.

We also live in farm country and can easily take them to the neighbors and socialize them with horses, sheep, alpacas, pigs, or cows (inquire about our personalized package).

We also socialize them with humans (and a LOT with kids) including babies and adults of all shapes and sizes. Early socialization and stimulation are what we love to do!

How are puppies raised?

We love socializing. Research shows that the first 12 weeks is critical socialization period for puppies, and they should find their forever homes ideally while still in this period. This is also why we do all we can - go to the effort to socialize daily and give them a healthy, happy, exploring, and experiencing environment.

Starting at 4 weeks, puppies are moved to different areas at points during each day to maximize socialization and experiences, while still paying close attention to each developmental stage.

We also follow guidelines promoted in the program "Puppy Culture" by Jill Killion for a solid foundation in temperament.

We use the Misty Method of early pre-house training.

In addition, LGD bound puppies are rotated to a protected indoor/outdoor area in the middle of the goat field to be surrounded by livestock and pack, and then eventually, when reaching a safe age and size, allowed in with the pack and livestock where mom accompanies them.
Where are puppies raised?
-
Puppies are either whelped and kept inside or in the little red barn adjacent to the goat field-for their first 4 weeks of life so we can easily keep a good eye on them. A whelping box is in the family room and in the red puppy barn, and everyone takes turns on "puppy duty".

Around 4 weeks they are introduced to the front lawn/porch. It has a crate for early pre-crate exposure and acclimation. Livestock/farm bound puppies spend more time with mom in the goat field. All puppies get to play with the toy mobile and see the other dogs and the cats. Puppies see visitors on the porch, in the yard, and in the field.

At 4-5 weeks approx., they spend most of their time in the outside puppy yard or the barn, with a door to the puppy play "field". Puppies have an inside/outside area in the barn with their own doggie door to the outside so they learn to venture outside on their own and to manage the doggie door at an early age. The barn area shares a fence with the chicken run. The pen extends out into the goat field so they can see the livestock on 2 sides, see and hear the chickens. We have some resident roosters who are moved i with the puppies to socialize with chickens when needed.

The daily exposure and play we provide in different areas is part of the early socialization and stimulation helping them grow into to confident and calm adults

When are Puppies Available?

Puppies can go to new homes at about 8 weeks of age. Pyrenees going to ne livestock guardians go between 8-10 weeks of age.

We do not let puppies go before approx. 7.5-8 weeks old.

Generally between 8-9 weeks is recommended. For full-time livestock guardians, up to 10 weeks is fine.
How much are puppies?

A Deposit of $250 holds your puppy. Puppy price varies by litter but ranges between $650-$800 and includes first vaccinations**, de-worming, veterinary examination, limited AKC registration paperwork, 1 year health guarantee* (with specific feeding and raising regime) puppy culture practices, and our regarded, exceptional daily socialization - thoughtfully and intentionally done, with people, kids, animals, and a host of other experiences to prepare them to be confident, calm, gentile guardians.

Our Pyrenees are from both champion and livestock guarding working lines. We are happy we can offer excellent lines/pedigrees, hand raised, exceptionally socialized puppies.

What do you feed your Dogs?

We feed high-quality Grain-Free Kirkland dog and puppy food and nature's domain diamond large breed puppy food. It is made by a high end dog food manufacturer for Costco and gets great reviews on dogfoodadvisor.com.

We also rotate in Kirkland adult and other Natural Dog food, and other quality feed for variety-and NOT all grain free as recent research shows using only grain free feed can possibly lead to heart issues. We believe variety is a plus for dogs.

Dogs also get whole, real foods like fresh eggs, meat scraps, carrots, brown rice and other leftover foods whenever we have them.

We've researched this a lot! And will happily share what we've learned. Anytime time you can feed your dog REAL food, do it! We wish we had the time and resources to completely feed a raw diet. As it is, we supplement with this as much as we can.

We do not subscribe to the old saying of "always feed your dog the same thing or they may get an upset stomach". (I believe this may have came from the dog food manufacturers so they can keep us buying their brand), True that major, abrupt changes can upset a dogs stomach and should be done gradually, especially when stomachs are only used to one, dry food. But would you want to eat the very same dry, over baked, food every meal everyday for the rest of your life? We like to mix it up with some variety of quality feed plus real food (including foods that aide in stomach flora) on top like eggs, ground meat, rice and veggies, or scraps. real food can help your dog's digestion flora and also provide interest and variety.

Of curse you can feed your dog as YOU choose! as the new owner, but we ask that you feed a high quality, large breed dog food for our health guarantee to remain in effect.
Do you deliver Puppies?

Yes we do. While we much prefer people picking up puppies & meeting us on the farm, we understand it is not feasible always to come our way. Kanas is a little out of the way! So, if needed, ground transportation is available at the buyer's cost. We also can arrange transport via air on American Airlines Pet transport/Cargo. They charge a flat fee + cost of the crate.

When possible, we love doing the door to door delivery ourselves, free within 100 miles in Kansas, or $0.55 cents a mile over that.(occasionally we can meet halfway to save you some on delivery cost). We love meeting our puppies' new owners. Unfortunately, we don't have the time to do this for EVERY puppy of course, because we have to work around times people are picking up in person. So, our personal door to door delivery is limited.

We also have several trusted ground ground transport providers. You are also welcome to arrange pet transportation yourself through another service and we can give recommendations.

As a helpful estimate, transport is usually around $300 or $500 plus the cost of a crate, no matter what major airport they fly into.

Is a Great Pyrenees right for me?

This is an important question to consider. I wish everyone could have a Pyrenees! Because I love them so much. ;) Of our 30+ years together & many dogs (Vizsla, Irish Setter, Border Collie cross, and German Shepard) the Great Pyrenees is our favorite. We have loved ALL our dogs, but the calm, mellow, sweet personality combined with lower exercise needs & our farm protection needs, makes the Great Pyrenees our favorite- they fit us perfectly. But they don't fit everyone and every situation. They ARE very smart, SUPER friendly, and great guardians. But they aren't the perfect dog for everyone.

They require some regular brushing to avoid mats, and if you want that giant fluff ball look- occasional grooming as well (our Pyrenees have jobs as live stock guardians and rarely would see a groomer.)

Pyrenees are smart, but they don’t like to “do tricks” per se. You certainly can train them, but they aren’t like a poodle, anxious to do tricks and please you. They can be quite stubborn.

Also, you NEED a good fence. This is very important. They instinctively guard 2 square miles! and they will wander all over that "territory" to guard you ...and all your neighbor’s property too- if not fenced well. They love to "sleep" outside at night and do guard duty- they are rather nocturnal.

They generally stay up at night to guard and sleep more in the day. If barking will bother you, or a very close neighbor, you might reconsider, or plan to keep your Pyrenees inside at night in an internal room in the house and be prepared to train him/her well- as barking at night can be one of their challenges. We have gotten to where we don't hear the night barking and our neighbors are a half a mile away. But if you live in a neighborhood and plan to keep your dog outside at night, be aware, they bark!

They are the best guardians, but so gentle with kids and your own animals, other cats and dogs. But beware, they are not friendly with and will chase away all other critters- possum, racoons, coyotes etc. We love that they keep the coyotes, skunks, badgers, etc and other critters way- but are friendly with the UPS and mailman. Although most visitors see their size and bark and don't know that...so they are a great stranger deterrent as well. However, they are NOT an attack dog or generally known as a personal protection breed.
Do pure breed Great Pyrenees have spots?
YES! Purebred Pyrenees can have spots. Occasionally we get this question about the markings on Tundra and some of the puppies. Pure breed Pyrenees can be all white or white with "badger markings". That is standard. AKC standards for Pyrenees specifically state that that pure breed Pyrenees can have "White or white with markings of gray, badger, reddish brown, or varying shades of tan. Markings of varying size may appear on the ears, head (including a full face mask), tail, and a few body spots. The undercoat may be white or shaded. All of the above described colorings and locations are characteristic of the breed and equally correct". A puppies badger markings can be very dark and prominent. However, most badger markings will fade mostly or almost completely by the time the puppy is 4-6 months old. So if you like those cute markings as a puppy, remember your adult dog will not look the same - most markings become so faint they are hardly noticeable.
We love the all white and the badger Pyrenees a like. Those badger markings are an important part of the breed standard and health preservation. We purposely included both badger and all white Pyrenees on our farm. Breeders who selectively and progressively breed all white to all white over generations to eliminate the possibility of badger marked puppies, are also in danger of eliminating genetics of good health and vigor. Research shows that breeding successively for all white increases the risks of genetic diseases. So we love both our badger puppies and our all white puppies.
